The UN missions for 85 member states issued a joint statement Tuesday condemning Israel's encroaching control of the West Bank, which critics say amounts to de facto annexation of the Palestinian territory.
Eight Arab and Islamic countries, including Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, issued a unified statement from Doha condemning Israel’s decision to designate vast tracts of the occupied West Bank as “state land,” Al Mayadeen reported Tuesday.
TEHRAN – The recent approval by Israel’s government to register large swaths of Palestinian land in the occupied West Bank as "state land" represents a bold step in Israel's ongoing effort to consolidate its control over Palestinian territories. This decision, seen as a further escalation in the occupation, is condemned by Palestinians and international legal experts alike as a direct violation of international law and United Nations resolutions.

TEHRAN – Israel’s latest measures in the West Bank mark another significant step in its long-term expansionist policy. By extending Israeli control into areas currently under Palestinian administration and making it easier for non-Arabs to buy land, Israel is clearly working to strengthen settlements and weaken any future Palestinian state. The statement by Defense Minister Israel Katz that Israel will “continue to kill the idea of a Palestinian state” leaves little room for doubt about Tel Aviv’s intentions.
